Change of Registrant

Registrant changes for .NL domains can be done online. The registration period for the domain remains unchanged.

Domain Renewal

As .NL domains can only be registered on a yearly basis, they cannot be renewed explicitly.

Transfers

Transfer procedure

Ensure that you have the registrant's permission.
Apply for the transfer. When doing so, use the token (AuthCode) that you have received from the registrant.
The application for the transfer has now been submitted to SIDN and is present in the releasing registrar's message queue.
The releasing registrar now has two possible courses of action:

 a. Confirmation of the transfer (within five days). The transfer is implemented directly after confirmation. (TransferDomain action=approve)
 b. No action: if the releasing registrar does not react within five days, the transfer is implemented after that period has elapsed.

During the five-day period (subject to the transfer not having been confirmed), the receiving registrar may make use of the cancel transfer option. If so, the transfer is not implemented. The domain name remains under the management of the releasing registrar.

Transfer notes

A .NL Domain Transfer must be initiated with a so-called Token (Authorisation Code), which can be obtained from the current registrar through the owner of the domain.
